Field of View Assignment

Here are some pictures demonstrating Field of View, including focus on foreground, middle gound, and background objects, with a final picture of the entire field in focus. I used my trusty Peter Griffin bobble-head, hybrid 'donkey/elephant/tiger' Kinder Egg toy, and another 'metroid' style Kinder Egg toy:

(P.S. - Also, new Canon T2i was used for these pics;) )

TEL Building Tour Photography Assignment

DMA204 TEL Building Assignment can be found here -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/56089860@N06/

These are the pictures I took to create a 'tour' of the TEL Building on the Seneca @ York campus for an assignment. I tried to find open areas to take the shots, and tried to make each picture descriptive and relative to the uniqueness of the building.

Skateboard Deisgn

For our assignment to create a skateboard design with the theme 'predator(s)', I have rough ideas of how to design my skateboard, but have not landed on anything yet. I have a general concept in my head right now, and have jotted down some sketches (random or relevant) that will become part of the final design. Although this post is not the actual Skateboard Design Outline, it is a rough idea of what I am thinking of or working with at the moment.

The dominant focus of the board will contain parts of these sketches:

Colour options include teal, red and black, or yellow ,with white trims (all together):

or a gradient of purple such as this:

And for a texture, as of now I am thinking of using stucco.

*Final outline for design will be posted soon.*

DMA179 "Soya Sauce Restaurant" Assignment

For this assignment I was given soya sauce, and 10 minutes to create a menu background concept for a restaurant in New York, called Ninja Restaurant. I had trouble thinking of initial ideas, and when I finally thought of some ideas, I found it even more difficult to convey my thoughts through my brush. I think if I had more time, I would be able to improve my design. However, this is what was created:

DMA204 "Shoe Ad" Assignment

For this assignment, I was to take a picture of a pair of shoes, and create an ad and slogan in poster form. I used a pair of Vans Spitfire AV6 (Anthony Van Engelen) shoes. From the many ideas and attempts I experimented with, I narrowed it down to these two pictures:

From these pictures, I used Adobe Photoshop to create these possible choices:

And chose this one, because I did not take the background picture of the skateboarder for the other two options, and felt that the actual colour of the shoe would be needed:

DMA101 "Vectors" Assignment

For this assignment, I was supposed to find a sketch or drawing from my sketchbook or from a professional artist. Since I am not a great at traditional sketches, I found a drawing on deviantart.com. The drawing I chose was of a chef, done by Omar Essam (http://dizzy-miro.deviantart.com/). This is the original drawing:

From this, I worked with Adobe Illustrator to trace and colour the image, to come up with this final product:

DMA133 - "Less Is More" Assignment

For this assignment, we were supposed to find a natural object with textures, and sketch six versions of it. The first three sketches are done in black and white. The versions include, 1. The object as seen in full view, 2. the object as seen zoomed into a section that still makes it recognizable, 3. The object as seen up very close or under a microscope, 4. Number 2 in reverse colours, 5. Number 2 with one colour added, 6. Number 2 with all colours included. My object was a leaf and this is what I came up with:
