Red Bull Game Interface Concepts

The next step in the assignment was to create a landing page concept, as well as an in game concept. In my original outlook, I was trying to go for a completely new look. This is hard to do for a pre-established and well branded company, so instead I decided to work with their own material. My main foundation is the saying, "Red Bull gives you wings."

From this I worked with background images of skies and clouds, and used cool colours to emphasize this theme. My next idea/ step is to implement a fractal zoom video ascending upwards until finally it comes back down, representing Red Bull's energy drink effects. This would replace the blue background on the stage now.
Personally when i play games on websites I don't want a lot of distractions, and although effects are sometimes nice to look at, they can become annoying and 'in the way' after a while. For these reasons i decided to have a simplistic yet effect display.

Flash 'RedBull' Themed Pong Game

As part of a school assignment, we were to design and develop a Pong game focused around a theme. The theme given was for the company RedBull. Here is my wire-frame mockup that simply shows the functionality of what the game will do.

FREE Textures! Week 13, 14

Hey all! Here are my final set of textures for now!:

Celebrity Painting

For this assignment we were supposed to use a similar method as the Robocop assignment (http://roblogzone.blogspot.com/2011/04/robocop.html), except recreated an already coloured picture to create a 'brushed/ painted' look. Here is the original photo I chose:

And this is the product I came up with:

Unlike the 'Robocop' picture, I did not use a tablet for this picture. The tablet sure does help with the 'feel' of creating these, and ultimately I think produces a better image just from the method and ease of use. But I am still happy with this outcome.

Final Assignment - Poster - Final

Finally done! I had a lot of fun creating this poster. It's in the style I remember seeing growing up (although this style was created much before my time), mixed with a bit of modern skateboard magazine style.

Here is also a version for the iPhone 4:
My references and influence are from examples such as:

The famous 'Tony Alva" shot which initially inspired my idea:

and other referenced magazine covers such as:

This was an alternate version I came up with and started working on, but did not finish, as I decided to go with the colour version:
Finally, here is my work timesheet:

Final Assignment - Poster - Brainstorming and Concept

It has come to the end of my first year, and I am unusually super excited about my final assignment. As soon as it was mentioned and we went through the scope in class, I instantly knew what I wanted to do, as my interests and hobbies created a direct connection and background idea. Here is the production scope:

"Creative based project that will use previous assets as the raw materials for the final digital preparation that may require print output and/or online presentation. Student will also make use of best practices and skill sets developed in other courses and semesters.Full creative and development scope may be provided via stylized client email. Subject covered but not limited to the following: Photo effects, Color pallet, Texture, Copy Deck, layout, Typography, Digital manipulation, production process, stylized design. This is not a personal project but a business project you will be required to track your hours using an online service for the time-sheet/spreadsheet. Google Documents is a great option, it’s online and attached to your gmail login account, a quick search will provide several options of time-sheet templates."

Here is my brainstorming (competed in approx 30 mins) with ideation, concept, and design layout of poster. Did not need to brainstorm that much because as soon as the project was mentioned I already had an idea.
I will also try to incorporate some splashes if it suits.

Here is a quick picture of my skateboard that I designed for the previous project and will be using for this:

Robocop!

Here is my Robocop assignment done partially with a Wacom tablet. It was fun using the tablet, and I can see it being very handy within this field of work. I enjoyed finishing this picture.

Hai Menu Assignment Final

For this assignment we were to design a menu for a new far-east fusion restaurant starting with a previous assignment (soya sauce painting) as a starting asset. My brainstorming started as follows :

which, with the help of my starting asset:

led to these possibilities and ideas.
From my ideas, I started with a 3" pallet per menu page. Then, with the idea of bamboo, and Asian/ Japnaese culture, I came to the theme of natural/ earth colours such as browns and yellows and greens. Layering my background, pictures, and covers, adjusting opacity and blend modes, I was able to place my assets and other pictures appropriately, while keeping them aesthetically pleasing and relevant to the theme. Once the layout was made I placed the text in on top of everything
